ABRA Control Solution is an aqueous glucose solution with a small amount of chemically inert ingredients and food coloring, intended for checking the accuracy of measurements using the ABRA kit. The control solution test is performed to determine whether the meter and ABRA test strips are functioning properly and whether the results provided by the meter are reliable. ABRA CONTROL SOLUTION NORMAL is available.
It is recommended to perform a control solution test when:
- You are using the meter for the first time.
- You are using a new batch of test strips.
- Whenever you have any concerns about the device’s operation or regularly to ensure accuracy.
- You are establishing a diabetes medication plan.
- Your glucose test result is lower or higher than normal. CONTROL SOLUTION COMPOSITION
Each control solution is a buffered, stabilized aqueous glucose solution (with the desired glucose content) containing preservatives and other non-reactive ingredients. The solution is formulated to react equivalently to a whole blood sample containing approximately 44.79 or 220 mg/dL of glucose. The ranges (batch-dependent) are printed on the vial label.
Intended Use:
Abra Normal Control Solution is a medical device for use exclusively with the ABRA blood glucose monitoring kit to verify the proper interaction between blood glucose meters and test strips.
