Contraindications:

Do not point the LED at scars or areas of skin affected by disorders or diseases. Patients with injuries or those taking anti-inflammatory medications for skin conditions should not take measurements. Do not point the thermometer lens at skin directly exposed to sunlight or heat from a heating device (e.g., a fireplace), skin undergoing phototherapy, or skin in the path of airflow from an air conditioner.
